Are You Living the 4 Hour Workweek Yet?

Anybody read Tim Ferriss’s best-selling book yet, The 4 Hour Work Week? I did and as you may have heard, I’m totally cranked up about his concept. Essentially, Tim has designed certain management strategies that ANYONE can follow (yes, that would include you, oh miserable cubicle-trappees) to allow you to live like a king on 4 hours a week of work.

Yeah, you may have to hire help (at $4-10 an hour) and yeah, you may want to live in Thailand. But I’m promising you, this is the real thing. I’ve done this to some extent, as I run a Net business (Tim even interviewed me for this book). But what a great reminder it was that no, I don’t have to be a time-slave to my business.

I’ve been putting in 8-10 hour workdays for the past two months, so I’m ready for what he calls a ‘mini-retirement’ for the rest of the summer. Yeah, I’ll be blogging on my progress right here.

A reader namede Sarah Robinson has done the same with her new blog, Living the 4 Hour Workweek. Check it out!

I agree, Tim Ferriss's management philosophy can be adopted, applied by anyone. This book fits all. Tim Ferriss's site and blog www.timferriss.com has more updated info.

    Hi Suzanne,

    Thanks for the great blog.

I have not managed to read Tim's book yet but am hearing so much about it and following his blog.

My husband and I are kind of living a 4HWW lifestyle - in that we run a net-based business and recently broke all the rules by leaving the UK and deciding to just travel the world.

Quite randomly we seem to have managed to visit some of the places Tim talks about (Panama & Buenos Aires) so far this year and we're currently in Grenada.

Not managed to get the work down to 4 hours a week yet - but we quite enjoy what we do, so it doesn't matter - but we do spend plenty of time on the beach and in the sea each day reminding ourselves how lucky we are to be doing this.

Enjoy your mini-retirement, it sounds like you deserve it after all that hard work.

Wow! Thanks so much for the mention Suzanne. And you are right this is quite the journey, as I am finding out. What I know is, it will be so worth it to get my life down to the basics. So much easier to "Feel the Joy", don't you think?

I will be followig your journey with this, too - you are an inspiration!

    Warmly,
    Sarah Robinson
